Proper grown ups
There are many signs you are growing old, like listening to Radio 2 or going to garden centres just for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. However there is nothing more likely to make you feel rather ‘grown up’ than meeting your friend’s son for the very first time!
It’s hard to believe that I hadn’t seen Damien and Michelle since they got married in September, and so it was great to catch up with them this weekend. They’ve been quite busy in the meantime, as they have managed to produce a small little child named George, and in the time I haven’t seen them he has grown up into quite the little dude. Considering my friends and I have all held on to our youth with such gusto over the last few years as we approached (and passed) the big 3-0, the introduction of a small child into the mix has not only forced us all to react appropriartely and grow up, but it also means we now have an excuse to act even more childishly and not feel guilty about it! I never thought I’d hear myself say it, but hooray for kids!
